This was our second time going up to the Blueberry Patch in Mansfield, Ohio. It is an amazingly fun place, even in the heat. We decided to have some lunch before we went picking, so we stopped in the cafe for some blueberry lemonade and delicious muffins. Once we were done, we got our bucket and headed out to the fields, however Mother Nature had other plans so we spent about an hour waiting for the downpour and thunder to pass us by. Keeping 4 kids entertained while waiting was a feat, especially when they have a store full of goodies just waiting to be touched. Once the rain stopped we headed out to pick our berries. The rain brought cooler weather, which was a welcomed blessing. The kids had so much fun picking the berries, though I think my youngest was happier eating rather then picking. I must admit eating right off the bush is pretty darn convenient and rather tasty!
Before we left, we just had to visit the farm animals down the lane. Somehow we must have missed them last year, but as we walked up, we were greeted by several horses, goats, alpacas and donkeys. My daughter was in HEAVEN, and I must admit, so was I! It’s been a while since I’ve snuggled up to a warm horse nose. We will definitely be back next year!!!
